Hi All,

I'm calling for a show of hands, how many of us would be interested in a realtime FX data stream?

With enough demand, I'm sure the good folk at BullSystems would consider it.

thanx,

Simon

Simon,

Not sure about realtime Forex but I'd certainly like EOD/Realtime Futures prices as well as other exchanges provided by Bull Systems! I know you can import this info but would be nice to get it all from one place. Maybe I will buy the product and get my data elsewhere. I just don't believe ASX data is enough especially for the annual subscription price. Elsewhere, I can pay less money and get a lot more info for my money.

At the moment I am considering purchasing the product but getting my data from another source. Will have to see how easily I can import data from other sources though before I make that call.

Simon

I notice that you answered a previous post of mine about futures.  So far the only way I have found is to set up an account with an online futures broker.  Two I have found in Australia are at http://www.lquay.com.au - www.lquay.com.au and http://www.brokerone.com.au - www.brokerone.com.au .  There are plenty in USA, which means setting up a USD account over there, still with access to SFE.  A very comprehensive site can be found at http://www.xpresstrade.com. - www.xpresstrade.com.

All the best.

I'm now on a quest for End of Day Backadjusted Futures data at a reasonable price. Will check out the site you mention. Any other suggestions welcome ;) Trying to keep the price below $20USD per month

Simon

Since Bullcharts can handle metastock data, getting EOD SFE charts should be quite simple.  This data is available from the likes of paritech for around $20 to $40 per month (including intraday snapshots etc).  I was looking at the online brokers to try and find a reasonable data and charting service as well as the facilities to place trades, another one based in Australia is http://www.getfutures.com - www.getfutures.com .  I'd be interested to hear what you find in your search.

Simon - Looks promising, and they have a free trial option too.

There was a mention that some futures data requires 4 or more decimal places.............

Peter, what's the situation here, can Bullcharts display 4 or more decimal places?

Pete,

This decimal point issue that chart rider has posted is very important.

Foreign Exchange such as EURUSD, AUDUSD etc requires 4 figures following the decimal point, and some futures, especially the german interest rate derivitives such as Euro Schatz require 3.

Currently BC seems to be rounding to 2 decimals when 3 is required, and 3 decimals when 4 is required - strange but true.

The number of decimal places shown on the price axis is dynamically determined based on how far you're zoomed in. Eg, if one tick is 0.7 and the next tick is 0.8 then it doesn't show 0.700 and 0.800 for clarity.

The number of decimal places shown in other locations (tool tips, status bar, info window, etc) is currently fixed to 3 decimal (and 1dp for indices). Will consider what we can do about this in the future.
