BullCharts 2.5.0 Beta is now available for http://www.bullcharts.com.au/beta/ - download .

This is a preview of the next big release of BullCharts. It is not fully tested, so please don't depend on it for your day to day trading. However, if you're curious about the new features in the upcoming 2.5.0 release, here's your chance to play.

There have been a lot of changes since 2.4.1, far too many to list here. Some of the larger features include:
  • Adjustments should be factored into historical prices
  • Company name and symbol changes should be dealt with - if you look up Newscorp (NWS), price data extends back to when they were called NCP
  • BullScan has two new scan types in addition to the ordinary scans:
    • BullScript scans allow you to specify the entire content of the scan with BullScript - either as a single block, or each column seperately
    • TradeSim scans allow you to quickly and easily set up trading strategies to be tested in http://www.compuvision.com.au/ - CompuVision's TradeSim back-testing product (sold seperately)
  • An RSC scan and an Index Comparison scan
  • BullScript can now use DLL plugins
  • You can customise the default parameters of indicators without having to edit their BullScript source
  • BullCharts' online help is now in standard, fast-opening Windows Help format, instead of slow, clunky PDF.
  • You can see the BullScript generated by the various scan tools, to help you understand how BullScript works.
  • More scans added
  • Improved training mode interface, after suggestions made on this forum
  • If you right-click on a chart widget and choose "Create Tip Box", you'll get a little text box that displays the tooltip at that point. This lets you keep tooltips permanently on view and even print them.
  • The BullScript built-in Security object now provides access to industry group information
  • BullScript now has eveningstar and eveningdojistar functions, and a OnOrSkipped function for matching dates
  • Lots of indicators added or improved
  • There's a new Market Scatter report in Actions > Market View
  • Choosing BullCharts Forum from the Help menu opens the forum in your favourite browser, instead of BullCharts' internal one.
  • Dragging a symbol from one watchlist to another now moves the symbol to the destination watchlist (hold down Control to make it copy) and doesn't switch to the destination watchlist afterward.
  • Many, many bug fixes.

Tim

The Bullcharts pricing list shows only one price for TradeSim, but this package is available in three different levels - standard, professional and enterprise.  Will Bullcharts be dealing with all three levels?

Thanks

We've http://www.bullcharts.com.au/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=188&PN=1&FID=1&PR=3 - released 2.5.1 now. If you downloaded the 2.5.0 beta version then the two versions are very similar. The only changes between the two are:
  • Added the median and mode BullScript functions
  • Added the "Stop Loss - Simple" indicator
  • Fixed a bug with ribbons where the last bar isn't shown
