This is correct. You can use the Index Builder to create a custom
index, but it's not possible at the moment to use to add other
indicators to this index. As mentioned, we will be looking at this in a
future version.

The index builder, from what I can see, will construct an indicator, but you still need to 'insert' it onto a stock chart. So you can't do any studies from the index you create as such, I think. I think (hope) a true index function in BC is still be on the to-do list eg see Peters post above.

Another suggestion for indices. At the moment it doesn't appear
possible to have anything other than the ASX company code as the main
or 'parent' pane, that all other panes derive their data from. Would it
be possible to have the index (or any other user defined 'signal') as
the 'parent' pane so that 'child' panes could show line studies of the
index?.

On another note, this would be awesome for Pairs trading! .... I think. Just starting to look into how this is one, but I know the first step is to create a chart from two stocks.

This is a brilliant idea. I would love to chart my account, and do so by plugging in my trades. ie, would love to see an equity curve, preferably as a barchart. I can see it in my head, its amazing how ones account balance forms similar patterns to charts. On thursday my account experienced downside price rejection, then on friday it rallied - would love to see that charted! |

Not at the moment - though that's a good idea. I'll add that to my task list
![]() Though at the moment you can obviously chart the existing S&P/ASX indices. Eg XMJ for all materials companies in the ASX200. |

Is it possible to create an chartable index from a group of stocks or a watchlist?. Eg create a chart of the materials group.
