    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://www.bullcharts.com.au/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=3" rel="nofollow">Peter</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 226<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 03&nbsp;Jun&nbsp;2005 at 5:08pm<br /><br />If you have begun to dabble in BullScript, you may find that BullScancan be a useful tool in learning how to extend your BullScript skills.The general process is to create a BullScan using the item you want tostudy, then use the Generate Script button on the Advanced tab.<br><br>This method can be used to learn how to use BullScript to:<br><ul>  <li>Access various price and fundamentals</li>  <li>Call indicators and markers with various parameters<br>  </li>  <li>Learn how to write script for comparisons suchs as crossovers</li>  <li>Increase a number by a certain percentage</li>  <li>anything else you can achieve with the BullScan criteria editor</li></ul><span style="font-weight: bold;">Example</span><br><br>If you wanted to know how to access the Market Cap data from withinBullScript, you could observe how BullScan does it by following thesesteps:<br><ol>  <li>Create a new BullScan</li>  <li>Add a new criteria for:</li>  <ul>    <li>Is a fundamental : Market Cap</li>    <li>Is greater than</li>    <li>0</li>  </ul>  <li>Click on the advanced tab</li>  <li>Click "Generate BullScript"</li></ol>You will see that the generated BullScript for the filter includes: <span style="font-family: courier new,courier,mono; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);">Security.MarketCap &gt; 0;</span><br>From this you could infer that <span style="font-family: courier new,courier,mono; color: rgb(0, 0, 153);">Security.MarketCap</span> is the way to access market cap information.<br>(Of course, this can also be found in the BullScript help.. but thistechnique can be used to learn about many other things as well).<br>]]>
