There's actually no programming in TradeSim; all the programming is done in Bullcharts and the interface between Bullcharts and TradeSim is very user friendly.

If you are able to write indicators in Bullcahrts, then you are ready for backtesting.

In earlier days I used to backtest by writing specialised indicators in Bullcharts only and in this way was able to develop a strategy that I've been using ever since.

Using TradeSim adds another dimension and makes the job alot easier and more reliable.

The Compuvision web site has some good articles about backtesting worth reading.

If you're going to trade seriously, in my view, a backtester such as TradeSim is essential and worth every cent.
