Anyone know what the difference is when scanning using ActTrade rising Equities compared to Actvest rising Equities?

I have no idea what they both mean.

Greetings Chris..

To gain an understanding of the difference between Alan Hulls Actvest and Acttrade methodologies, download, and read the course notes from these two sites.

I'm also interested to know, why is there not a Falling xx equivalent?

Short trading is just as important imo

Though I guess this is a question for Alan, I wonder if the indicator/scan could be reversed and the resulting system put to Alan to see what he thinks.

Yes, in summary the ActTrade reports are for short term traders, and ActVest is for longer term investors. Alan's also got a newsletter that you might be interesting in subscribing to.

I've spoken to Alan previously, and he's confirmed that there's no ActTrade Falling Equities report (nor an ActTrade ROAD indicator).

Important Update:
Some people have noticed a problem with the ActVest falling Equities report.  Please download this replacement scan to correct the problem.
  1. Click to download the new scan file
  2. Safe to C:\Program Files\BullSystems\BullCharts\Scans
  3. Delete (or back up somewhere else) the old ActVest Falling Equities.sc file
  4. Rename this new file to ActVest Falling Equities.sc
  5. Restart BullCharts
This fix will be included in the upcomine 2.3.0 version.

A couple of reasons come to mind:
  1. Alan provides other valuable notes and commentary in the newsletter.
  2. I think he pre filters the securities that he passes into his ActTrade / ActVest scans (I'm not sure what he uses), whereas BullScan just scans across all securities.
We're not presenting the BullScan scans as a replacement to the newsletter, rather as a tool that lets you explore beyond the newsletter, or use different parameters.
