Q Stick

I just found this on the net..it may be of interest..........

Tushar Chande says, "Qstick extracts the essence of the candlestick approach by taking a moving average of the difference between the closing and the opening price. …It can be plotted over a candlestick chart to spot divergences. …When markets make giant price moves, a slackening of the momentum can be seen when Qstick crosses its trailing average. ………A longer term, trend following approach with Qstick is to use the zero crossing of the Qstick values."

They are interesting aren't they. Do you have the right Q Stick! The one I use is a momemtum line that passes across 0 depending on the market movement. It is found in Insert-Indicaters-momentum- Qstick.

Hi SC

I've tried Q-Stix on forex data and think they are a very interesting idea. Is that the candle like OHLC representation with the dot in the middle somewhere that shows a likely pivot point?

If so, then, er, where are they in bc?? Are we talking the same thing here?

Simon

As I like candle stick charting I am trying different values on the Q Stick momentum indicator. Currently trying 13 as opposed to the preset 24. Anyone else tried different values or even uses Q Stick?
